Senior Electrical and Instrumentation Designer for a long term contract opportunity with Yoh's client located in Houston/Baytown, TX.
The Big Picture:
This position is located at a client site large industrial chemical facility (tobacco and smoke free). The company maintains an engineering team at the site.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Design of instrument, control, and low voltage (480VAC and under) electrical systems for chemical processing facilities.
- Designing instrument spec sheets, loop sheets, schematics, and installation details for flow, pressure, temperature, weight, level, and other plant instrument systems.
- Position is split between Houston office and plant site. Plant site work required to verify existing configuration and gather information for use in office.
- Work with clients, project teams, engineers, and occasionally supervise the work of other designers in office and field.
What You Need to Bring to the Table:
- 10 - 20 years design experience with a minimum of 10 years as an instrument & electrical designer in a chemical processing facility, refinery, or terminal.
- Recent PLC and Delta V DCS experience is required.
- Must be Proficient in CAD using MicroStation V8i.
- Experience working in Intergraph SmartPlant Instrumentation desired.
- Experience in Intergraph Smart 3D a plus.
- Knowledge of control systems and how they integrate with plant instrumentation and equipment is required
- Able to work under limited design supervision
- Must have good oral and written communication skills and be proficient with the MS Office 2010 suite of software. Previous EPC experience a plus.
- Must be able to meet physical demands of field work as needed to collect and verify data.

The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
