Process Control Technology Systems Engineer

The primary responsibility of this role is to provide control systems engineering and project support for the preparation and execution of control systems portions of projects for chemical manufacturing facilities.
The incumbent will:
Be responsible for planning and supporting all phases of capital investment projects including concept development, estimating, basic engineering, detailed engineering and design, procurement, and construction and startup of new or modified production facilities
Follow client and/or customer specific practices, standards, guidelines, and procedures for preparation of estimates, scopes, specifications, design, and other deliverables
Follow all control systems aspects of engineering to ensure all project objectives including safety, technical correctness, budget, constructability, schedule, maintainability, and operability are met
Interface with other engineering disciplines/departments, customers and vendors/suppliers to ensure successful development and execution of projects
Prepare control systems specifications, drawings and other documentation assist in compiling construction packages
Provide field support, and participate in check out, commissioning and start up
Comment on existing or create new process control systems procedures, standards and practices to stay current with technology and implement improved methods.
The selected candidate is required to possess the following:
Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited university (or equivalent) in Electrical or Chemical engineering or a related field with strong interest in control systems
Four and more years minimum experience in chemical, industrial or pharmaceutical facilities in control systems design and engineering or equivalent experience
Knowledge of safety system documentation, automation validation, quality assurance, etc.
Knowledge of process control strategies and systems
Knowledge of safety systems and industrial control networks
Strong computer hardware and software skills,
Knowledge of relevant national and international standards in the area of process control, low voltage electrical, and instrumentation
Knowledge of project control skills including project planning, scheduling, cost control, and contract development
Demonstrated experience in providing field support and participating in check out, commissioning, and start-up of process control installations
Systematic approach to problem definition and solution development
Ability to work as a member of cross-functional teams and to participate in multiple projects simultaneously
Strong organizational and interpersonal skills to deal with people at different levels of management, engineering and design, and with internal customers (e.g. engineering, maintenance, operations) and suppliers of PCT material and services
Good verbal and written skills in order to communicate with and obtain cooperation from team members involved with engineering, design, check out, commissioning and start-up. Demonstrated ability to write comprehensive technical and scope documents required for project execution
Willingness and ability to travel 20-40% of time when job assignment dictates
Willingness and ability to work additional hours when job assignment dictates
Willing to pursue advanced education (i.e. Masters Degree) other certifications, and training when job assignment dictates.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
